Motion with intent, not decoration

Every animation on a website should answer a question: where did this come from, where is it going, what just changed.
Websites animate because they can, and most of the time it costs the visitor attention without giving anything back. The test we use is simple: does this movement answer a question?
Three questions motion can answer
A card that grows into the page it links to answers “where did this come from”. A header that compresses on scroll answers “what changed”. A hover that lifts a card answers nothing, so we try to give it a job — reveal the result, show the next step.
And every one of them is switched off for visitors who ask their system to reduce motion. That is not an accessibility footnote; it is part of the design.
